Cat bums

Getting my motor running!

I'm getting very excited for my upcoming trip! Very soon I'm off to the States for five weeks, four of which I'll be spending in Connecticut for the Sendak Fellowship. I'm slowly getting myself organised... I'm taking all my work materials and my camera, and plan to blog a bit about what goes on. I feel terribly lucky to be having a month for personal work and to spend time with my two fellow Fellows, Alice Lickens and Gerardo Blumenkrantz. The possibilities feel very exciting to me!

These guys above are rhinoceros beetles, but they've gone pink. Hence looking a bit nude.

Oh Molly!

Saw Pretty in Pink yesterday at Somerset House - about billionth viewing, but first on the big screen. My favourite 80s seamstress!

The Freewheelin'

My sister asked for a picture for her birthday this year. She is a big Bruce Springsteen fan, but his albums don't lend themselves so much to animal copying - I did Born to Run but the rest were tougher (Tougher than the Rest ho ho!) But she loves Bob too, so I went for this one.

As my sister said, illustrating in that millisecond of photo the relationship you've always wanted, in the 60s, in New York.

A bit more screenprinting

The result of two more days screenprinting... I'm spattered all over in paint, and aching everywhere -  who knew it was SO knackering! Not sure it's really for me as it turns out; I think I'm too impatient. And my worst thing is colour mixing, I'm rubbish at taking the time that it really needs. Maybe I'll feel differently soon, when I can unbend!

Here's Olive as star of the screen!

You're big and bright all right, but you sure were a pain to mix up colours for!

Showtime for Billie and Coco!

Today is the publication of my new book, Showtime for Billie and Coco! It's published by Macmillan Children's Books, edited by the super Emily Ford and designed by the super Emma Farrarons
Thank you both so much!

Packed full of fox clowns, pigs in tutus and break dancing cats! Here are some details from the inside...

Wake up guys, it's publication day!

What does it make what does it make?!
And will Albert ever find Tamara? Will the cool cats get untangled? What does a crocodile look like in a feather boa?
For answers to these and many other questions... Showtime for Billie and Coco!
